Mr. Eding Yi is a consultant with over ten years of professional experience across the finance, technology, retail, and aviation-related sectors. He has worked in investment banking and Fortune 100 companies, and has long served as an advisor to cross-border enterprises. His main areas of practice include private equity and equity investment, mergers and acquisitions, listings, corporate restructuring and insolvency, aviation finance, public policy, and cross-border transactions.
Mr. Yi also has sustained teaching, research, and industry experience in aviation law, the low-altitude economy, advanced air mobility, and aviation industrial policy. He currently teaches and serves as a mentor in relevant programmes at the HKU Institute for China Business and the Faculty of Engineering of The University of Hong Kong, contributing to talent development and industry engagement in low-altitude economy, future air mobility, aviation policy, and industrial innovation. He also supervises research topics including “Adaptive Legal Frameworks for the Low-Altitude Economy in the Greater Bay Area.”
Mr. Yi is also a Research Fellow of the Aviation Working Group (AWG), focusing on aviation finance, public policy, cross-border transferability (XBT), and bilateral aviation safety agreements (BASA), with particular attention to the interaction among aviation assets, regulatory systems, and cross-border transaction arrangements.
Mr. Yi has also been invited to serve as an expert for an APEC China 2026 low-altitude economy related project, participating in the review of Asia-Pacific low-altitude economy innovation cases and industry exchange. His work focuses on the industrialisation, institutional development, and cross-border coordination of the low-altitude economy in the Asia-Pacific region.
His clients include Fortune Global 500 companies, aviation and technology enterprises, financial institutions, cross-border investment institutions, and start-ups. He has advised financial institutions, aircraft and engine lessors, airlines, flight schools, and other industry stakeholders on aviation asset transactions, aircraft delivery, lease financing, M&A due diligence, operational compliance, and insurance arrangements.
